Caring for Carpet

Caring for Area Rugs
Some high-end area rugs, such as all wool materials, may require professional cleaning. Otherwise, regular vacuuming and spot cleaning should be sufficient

Caring for Laminate & Vinyl
Laminate Flooring is extremely hygienic and virtually maintenance-free compared to other flooring. Routine cleaning only requires vacuuming, dust mopping or damp mopping. The use of flooring cleaner will keep your floor beautiful for years to come. Larger marks and more difficult stains can be easily removed with Acetone ™ or other solvents containing alcohol.

Caring for Hardwood
Vacuum or sweep hardwood to remove particles that could scratch your floor. Apply Mohawk Cleaner directly to a specialty terry cloth flooring mop, (available from flooring retailers). Use a back and forth motion with the mop. Replace the cloth cover with a clean one when it becomes soiled. The terry cloth cover is washable.

Caring for Ceramic
Ceramic products require minimal maintenance. Glazed or unglazed tile can generally be cleaned with clear water and/or mild non-soap based on household detergent followed by a clear water rinse to prevent film formation, and wiped dry. Ceramic tile should be maintained on a regular basis to prevent buildup of soil, grease, residue, soap detergents, sealers, dampness, water, etc. to lessen slippery conditions. The tile should be thoroughly cleaned after installation to assure easy maintenance in the future.

Acid cleaning is not recommended. If necessary, only water based sulfamic acid can be used when mixed and applied strictly according to package instructions.
